London South East Colleges has been awarded a Quality Mark from the Mayor of London’s new Construction Academy.
The College, which has sites across Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich, is one of a number of education providers across the Capital who have successfully achieved ‘Quality Mark’ status.
The scheme has been launched to help address the construction skills shortage being faced in London, by identifying high quality training centres.
Sam Parrett, Principal and CEO of London South East Colleges, says:
“We are delighted to be part of the Mayor’s pioneering Construction Academy as we are very much aware that the demand for construction skills is growing rapidly across London.
“Together with our Local Authority in Bexley we are working to develop the ‘Place and Making Institute’, which be a centre of excellence for built environment-related learning, research, innovation and enterprise.
“It’s extremely encouraging to see education providers coming together to tackle skills shortages. We look forward to working closely with these providers – as well as with employers and the GLA.”
